Child Acting Application Photos

Simple, current photographs usually give an agency the clearest first view of a child—professional studio images are not required for an initial application.

For an application

Two clear photographs are enough

Send one recent head-and-shoulders photograph and one clear half-length photograph. A modern phone camera is suitable when the image is sharp, well lit and shows the child as they normally look.

Take the photographs in daylight against a plain background. Keep clothing simple and age appropriate, and do not use beauty filters or heavy editing.

Take the photographs

A simple home setup

  1. Stand the child near a window or outside in open shade, avoiding harsh sun.

  2. Use a plain, uncluttered wall and move the child a little away from it.

  3. Hold the camera at the child's eye level and keep it steady.

  4. Take a close-up and a half-length image with the child looking towards the camera.

  5. Check sharpness, lighting and background before uploading the original file.

What works best

Useful choices and common problems

Do

Use colour photographs, even light, a clean lens, simple clothing and a relaxed natural expression.

Avoid

Group shots, costumes, hats, sunglasses, school uniform, screenshots, watermarks and busy holiday backgrounds.

Keep editing light

Cropping and small exposure corrections are fine. Do not reshape features, blur skin or add filters.

Name files clearly

Use a short, helpful filename without sensitive information—for example, first-name-close-up.jpg.

Professional images

Do we need professional headshots?

Not for the initial application. Two recent, natural phone photographs are enough. Once represented, children approaching age four and older are normally expected to have suitable current professional headshots for casting profiles.

You may choose your own suitable photographer; you are not required to use an agency recommendation. Professional headshots commonly cost £150–£250. The agency’s recommended photographer includes two images, while additional edited images may cost more. Families can also view the headshot studio gift voucher.

Important: Never submit an image unless the parent or guardian has permission to use and share it for representation and casting.

Uploads

File format and size

The application form accepts JPG, PNG and WebP images. Large files are resized in the browser before sending; if an upload still fails, submit the form without photographs and email them separately to info@kidstalent.agency.
